 Happy Friday!

Today we went to music and practiced keeping a steady beat with rhythm instruments and djembe drums.

We started our "I am Unique!" unit in Social Studies. We first read a book called "Our Skin" by Megan Madison and then talked about how everyone has a unique skin tone. We compared our skin colour with our peers and found some students who had skin that looked like ours, and some didn't. We then talked about how it doesn't matter what skin colour you have, every person is unique, every person is important! Mrs. Switzer painted our hand a colour that matched our skin tone and we made a handprint.

In your child's take home folder, you will find a sheet titled "I am Unique!". Over the weekend, please help your child to fill this out and return it to school as soon as possible. We will use the information you provide to help guide our upcoming lessons.

Have a great weekend!

💛
