Happy Valentines Day! ❤️

Today we made Valentines cards for our families, handed out our Valentines cards, played scooter tag and scooter relay in gym, and had centres. 

There is no school for students on Thursday or Friday this week. 

Our 100th Day of School is on Wednesday, February 22. Your child is welcome to dress up like they are 100 years old for a fun filled day! 

We will celebrate pink shirt day on Thursday, February 23 instead of February 22.

Tomorrow is Valentines Day!  We have 16 students in our class. Your child is welcome to bring Valentines for the class. Please do not write other students names on the cards, your child can just sign their name on each card. Please do not bring treats, candy or chocolates for other kids, unless they are individually wrapped and attached to the Valentines card.  Happy Friday!  Today we went to music and practiced keeping a steady beat with rhythm instruments and djembe drums.  We started our "I am Unique!" unit in Social Studies. We first read a book called "Our Skin" by Megan Madison and then talked about how everyone has a unique skin tone. We compared our skin colour with our peers and found some students who had skin that looked like ours, and some didn't. We then talked about how it doesn't matter what skin colour you have, every person is unique, every person is important! Mrs. Switzer painted our hand a colour that matched our skin tone and we made a handprint.  In your child's take home folder, you will find a sheet titled "I am Unique!". Over the weekend, please help your child to fill this out and return it to school as soon as possible. We will use the information you provide to help guide our upcoming lessons.  Have a great weekend!  💛
