Happy November 1! ❄️

We are back on our "letter of the week" routine. We started letter "Ss" today. We wrote in our journals and  learned a new alphabet rap for "S". We had music and started learning our song for our winter concert, which will be in late December. More information to come soon! 

Please ensure your child is dressing for the weather! It is going to start getting very cold outside.

Tomorrow is Valentines Day!  We have 16 students in our class. Your child is welcome to bring Valentines for the class. Please do not write other students names on the cards, your child can just sign their name on each card. Please do not bring treats, candy or chocolates for other kids, unless they are individually wrapped and attached to the Valentines card. Your child may bring a special treat to eat during snack time.  "I played writing on the whiteboard!"-Isha "I played dollhouse with Taliyah!'-Amiyah  "I played blocks!'-Rhys "We made Valentines Day bags!"-Brinnley  "I played blocks and stuffies with Rhys!"-James "We went to library!"-Dylan There is no school for kids on Thursday or Friday this week due to Teacher's Convention!  See you tomorrow! ❤️

 Happy Friday!  Today we went to music and practiced keeping a steady beat with rhythm instruments and djembe drums.  We started our "I am Unique!" unit in Social Studies. We first read a book called "Our Skin" by Megan Madison and then talked about how everyone has a unique skin tone. We compared our skin colour with our peers and found some students who had skin that looked like ours, and some didn't. We then talked about how it doesn't matter what skin colour you have, every person is unique, every person is important! Mrs. Switzer painted our hand a colour that matched our skin tone and we made a handprint.  In your child's take home folder, you will find a sheet titled "I am Unique!". Over the weekend, please help your child to fill this out and return it to school as soon as possible. We will use the information you provide to help guide our upcoming lessons.  Have a great weekend!  💛
